Glenn & Malinda have been documenting firefighters on the job for over a decade. Malinda even asked Glenn for a scanner one year for Sweetest Day so she could respond that much faster to the scene.

One night, the couple was headed to a nice event, Glenn in a tie, and Malinda wearing (gasp) a little black dress. Until the tones dropped for a fire set at a school. Malinda grabbed a pair of jeans and t-shirt and ran out the door after Glenn.

While Glenn photographed, Malinda helped change air tanks, then later, when everything was under control, changed her dress, in solitude of course. Then went back to helping hand out drinks.

The couple even went so far as to fashion a “firefighter cooler” from a garden wand with a mist setting, a photography light stand, and a garden hose, which lived in the truck waiting for the next summertime fire.

Speaking of their trucks, chances are there is a case of water bottles in Malinda’s, right next to her turnout gear. It’s habit-forming by now. She’s earned her “Fire Angel” nickname over the years.
