I went to 2 fires, within blocks of each other, virtually at the same time, same departments, some of the same command (still wondering how they managed to do that!). Ck out Glenn’s video from NCH here. I still have to edit my iPhone video frm both. Will do soon. Prints available here. Access code to get in available from our facebook firefighter friends. Forest Park firefighters help teen driver after she crashes into a pole – hard!
Cliff Radel at The Enquirer has written a beautiful story about an outstanding young member of Colerain’s fire family creating an eternal flame at his father’s fire station. Please read it at this link to the story and video and watch the video here.

Pesky fire rekindled in the ridgelines of the roofs. If it werent so darn far away I maybe could have gotten red stuff. I was on scene with the last of the tankers called in. They set up 2 tanks and 2 aerials, and put it out pretty fast!
The Marshal on scene said all of a sudden it was blowin through the roof on the right side.

The nice lady that owns the property offered me a ride in her golf cart to the scene from the other side of the farm, so i definitely took her up on it – was able to take a case of water and a box of towels, which she delivered to the guys for me. : )
The man in blue is taking the water around to them. Sorry it wasnt cold, but it was wet and clean at least. Check out the video from Monday here.
Hearing “we had flashbacks of Colerain” from the Deputy Chief was not something I wanted to hear! It gives me chills when they talk about spongy floors and air horns.
Thank the good Lord everyone got out ok. Wish I could have expressed the importance of this… but most of those folks dont really understand….
Check out the VIDEO here.
On a personal note, I’ll very much miss Chief Leininger’s mom, and of course his father, Blackie, who passed several years ago.
Both of his parents practically adopted their whole neighborhood, and even me.
She will be greatly missed, but I’m sure is with her love. My sincere condolences to all those who love them both.
Deja vu all over again. Colerain firefighters return to the Great Miami River to rescue more teen boys who got stuck in the river trying to canoe in dangerous water! Crosby rescued 2 from a sand bar this time. Miami Twp worked with Colerain yesterday.
Thankfully, again, everyone made it out safe. Hey guys, if you do any water rescue training coming up – let me know!
Hopefully we can get some Pub Ed out there with a video!
Be safe all! And next time maybe try to schedule during my shift….
