More Video | Indian Ridge Million Dollar Fire

Firefighters respond to an alarm drop in Hanover Townshhip that went out at 12:42 am. Then the pro shop alarm drops. Then the building fills with heavy fire and smoke so thick firefighters can see a thing.

Seven departments responded to the scene at the Indian Ridge Golf Club for a million dollar fire in the clubhouse. No hydrants in the area, so they had to set up tankers. They trucked in 4 million gallons of water to fight the fire, made much worse when the first floor went “spongy”.

Hanover Township firefighters train with Colerain Fire Department. Robin Patterson had taught their EMS class the night before the Squirrelsnest fire, which took her life.

Deputy Chief Stitsinger said, “We had flashbacks of Colerain!” They blew the air horns to get everyone out before the floor caved into the basement, where the fire apparently started. He said they were luckly no one was hurt.

It gives me chills when I think about it. I’m so glad everyone was able to evacuate safely and no injuries were reported! I was there at about 8:30 am and they still has some hot spots.

Ohio State Fire Marshalls are investigating, but were stuck waiting on heavy equipment to help move the debris from the first floor and above.

Yet another reminder to never take anything for granted! Be safe out there!
